What to consider when choosing an Insulation Contractor

Choosing the right insulation contractor is crucial for a successful insulation installation in your home. Here are a few things to consider when selecting an insulation contractor:

  1. Experience and expertise: Make sure to choose a contractor with a proven track record of success and experience in installing the type of insulation you want. Ask for references and check them out. Check their google ratings.

  2. Licensing and insurance: Your contractor should be licensed and insured to protect you in case of an accident or damage to your home during the installation process. Ask for copies of their licenses and insurance certificates. This is extremely important.

  3. Quality of products and materials: Choose a contractor that uses high-quality insulation products and materials. They should be able to provide you with a detailed list of materials they plan to use, ask them if they are formaldehyde free, and check if they have any certifications. Also, make sure they are code-marked and compliant for fire safety and meet building code standards.

  4. Price and warranty: Compare quotes from a couple contractors and make sure to understand what is included in the price. Look for a contractor that offers a warranty on their work and materials to protect your investment. I REPEAT! DO NOT JUST GO WITH THE LOWEST PRICED QUOTE! Insulation installation is technical, and if not done right, the performance will be worthless.

  5. Communication and customer service: Your insulation contractor should be able to answer all your questions and provide you with a clear explanation of the installation process. Choose a contractor that is responsive, professional, and easy to communicate with. We recommend going with a contractor that actually meets you face to face, and inspects your home, and includes a full measure. Not priced over the phone. Why? Because you could be charged with additional costs, or overcharged on the m2 of the surface area.

  6. Face to Face Consultation. As mentioned above, its important to understand the value of a face to face, onsite consultation as they will measure the space accurately, assess if there are any additional obstacles, and provide on-site professional advise.

By considering these factors, you can choose an insulation contractor that will install the right insulation for your home and provide you with quality work and excellent customer service.
